The exact origins of the Friday the 13th superstition remain shrouded in mystery. Several theories exist:

• Norse Mythology: A tale tells of 12 gods dining in Valhalla when Loki, the god of mischief, arrived as the 13th guest, leading to the death of the beloved god Balder.

• The Last Supper: The Last Supper, attended by Jesus and his 12 apostles, numbered 13. Judas, the betrayer of Jesus, was the 13th guest, further cementing the association of 13 with misfortune.  

• The Knights Templar: On Friday, October 13, 1307, King Philip IV of France ordered the arrest and execution of the Knights Templar, a powerful religious order.
